Friday in a Flash!

Fortunately, our flight was later in the evening (9:50) so we were able to go about our daily routine without a crazy rush.  I went to work for a few hours and a chance to get things better organized before leaving.  Andi took Tessa to Carolyn's 'Golden Retriever hotel' in Marlborough.  On the way home I stopped at Mahoney's and finally found some cucumber seedlings (impossible to find this year).

Andi had stopped at Verrill Farms to get sandwiches, so that took care of lunch.  I worked in the garden for almost three hours planting and weeding.  Alex stopped by to exchange cars so he could pick up his new bike (getting a tune up) so that he could join a couple of his friends on a 90 mile ride Saturday morning!

We got packed, closed up the house a bit and the Avalon driver arrived on time at around 6:15.

We were apprehensive of the holiday weekend Friday traffic, but the roads were empty.  We got to the airport with a lot of time to spare.  We checked in and got through security easily and headed down to the Priority Pass lounge........finding that's where everyone was hanging out!  Actually, we found seats and settled in to a few drinks and snacks until boarding.

Our seats were in row 8 in a separate part of the cabin (holding about 16 seats) for premium economy class.  It was not as nice as business class, but roomier than economy.  As we were enjoying a glass of prosecco, we watched as two infants (out of the other 14) wiggled into their seats.  One was about Boyd's age and the flight attendant inserted a bassinet into the bulkhead wall across the aisle from us.  I accidentally groaned and the Dad heard me.......and leaned over and said: "Don't worry, it won't be so bad."  Actually, the baby was great and slept most of the flight.

The flight took off on time and we kicked back to relax, with a quick dinner and eye shades......and headphones!
